Leanne’s education and experience (BA Hons Early Childhood Studies) has focused on Children and Young People which has enabled her to Coordinate Youth Projects supporting children with issues surrounding behavioural and emotional needs. The whole family approach gave her the opportunity to work with parents and other professionals such as Social Workers, Family Support Workers, Parent Support Advisors and health professionals such as the School Nurse and CAMHS. She continues to experience this role within her work for one of HRP’s partner organisations Belle Vue Community, Sports and Youth Centre. As a Caseworker she offers support to those that maybe experiencing relational difficulties via the Parents as Partners Programme. This can be via meetings, home visits and/or phone calls.
Other responsibilities include working with volunteers in the role of the Volunteer Relationship Advisor (VRA), liaising with various organisations such as Schools, Community Venues and other agencies with the aim to promote and encourage the placement of a Volunteer Relationship Advisor within these. This work may include some shadowing of the three modules of training offered to the volunteers.
