Jayne joined the Healthy Relationships Programme team in November 2016 and became the Project Lead in February 2018. Prior to this she worked for 10 years as a senior manager at Newcastle City Council Children’s services-overseeing locality partnership development, early help and family support provision. As well as working in local government Jayne has worked within central government: at the Home Office developing community drugs prevention programmes and at the DfE-supporting local areas to deliver Sure Start and Children’s Fund programmes in the north east region. Jayne qualified as a social worker in the last century (!) and spent her early career working in child protection and drug and alcohol services and later became ChildLine regional director for Yorkshire and the North East. She is committed to early intervention and prevention and to working on programmes that seek to make a difference.
In her role leading the HRP team Jayne has drawn upon her years of developing and delivering innovative programmes with a view to enabling change that will be sustainable in Hartlepool beyond the life of the HRP programme.
Jayne enjoys walking in her spare time but it’s good that her poor sense of direction isn’t reflected in her strategic planning!
