Who are we?
The Healthy Relationships Partnership is made up of Changing Futures North East, Hartlepool Borough Council, Belle Vue Sports Community & Youth Centre and Tavistock Relationships. We are supported by the Early Action Neighbourhood Fund with joint funds from Big Lottery Fund, Comic Relief and Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.
We aim to build on good practice in Hartlepool to support parental relationships and improve outcomes for children. We believe that people should be able to talk about their relationships and get help if they need it and in doing so we can achieve a happier, healthier Hartlepool.
Based on national evidence
The delivery of our project in Hartlepool is based on extensive national research and evidence compiled by academics and the Early Intervention Foundation. This research shows that parental relationships are crucial to healthy child development and children’s life chances, and that addressing parental conflict should be a key part of early intervention efforts. Information on this research can be found on the Reducing Parental Conflict Hub, funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) as part of their ongoing work in recognising the importance of the parental relationship in outcomes for children and families.
